“What a boring night this is…” he blew out a bit of smoke in between puffs of his cigarette. “Mn, at least the view’s enjoyable.”
Not wanting to disturb her father figure’s peaceful state. The little blond tip-toed behind Hatter with a small gift. One she crafted herself as her bandaged up fingers showed evidence of that. It was a three little dolls, no larger than one’s hand. They were the small little family that they had developed, each with a pair of bear ears and velcro hands so they could stick together. Both figuratively and literally. She had planned to put them in or on top of his hat, but that was a small problem. She forgot to about the large height deference.
With a small, nervous sigh, Cinderella stepped forward. “Ne, Papa..! I made a special surprise for you, and Alice!” She said with a smile, keeping the little dolls hidden behind her back.

“… All it ever does take is a nightmare…” the Hatter allowed himself the simple murmur while he listened to the girl talk. A nightmare of a world that didn’t have the rules that they had here, that was what that was. And all it would be. “Wonderland doesn’t give that power to outsiders, Cindy. This place may be hell but it’s a lot safer than you would think when it comes to things like that… and believe me… I am sure you are not a stupid little girl.” and all the Hatter would do is hold an arm out. Just as a silent offer.
Cinderella gave small nods between sniffs to show that she was listening. Though his words did bring her comfort, confirming that the terrifying nightmare wouldn’t be real. She began to cry, fully now as little sobs mingled with hiccups. The fabric of her gloves beginning to be soaked in tears she tried to wipe away. Looking up to Hatter with a loud gulp, she gave him one last nod before taking his offer. Burying herself into his jacket, letting it all out with a muffled wail. From waking up from the horrific dream to keeping it to yourself, leading up to the point that it finally got to her. There was a small sense of relief, like a wave washing over her body that barely reached her showers. Melting away the stress and doubts she held as she gave his waist a small squeeze. She even started to begin what a real relationship with a father is suppose to be like. Supporting, protective and kind.
